Today the use of lock-in amplifiers is scattered over a very wide field of applications, even when considering only the optical domain the spread is huge. After a quick introduction to demodulation, lock-in techniques and boxcar integration in general, this seminar will focus on the two following distinct topics:
1. Non-linear imaging techniques;
2. Stabilization of the carrier envelope offset frequency.
The seminar will also contain a live demonstration of the Zurich Instruments UHFLI and there will be the possibility to do test measurements after the presentation in your own lab.
Dr. Jan Benhelm obtained his PhD in Physics 2008 on the topic of quantum computing and high precision spectroscopy with trapped calcium ions in the group of Rainer Blatt at Innsbruck University, Austria. From this work he has an in depth understanding of practical work in optics labs, in particular radio frequency and servo electronics for laser frequency stabilization. After spending two years in a Swiss management training and consultancy firm,Janjoined Zurich Instruments in 2011 as an expert for optical and laser applications.
